He pulls the covers up over his head when the light from the halls fills into the darkness of his room. He did not hear the question. So he does not acknowledge it was asked of him. He only knows he needs the comfort of the dark tonight. He does not have the strength or will to even move. His head is hurting from the noises the street below. His heart is racing. If he was mortal he would feel clammy but he is not so instead feels the coldness drift through his veins. He does not know why he is depressed nor does he really dwell upon it. He just accepts the melancholy like an old friend.

Why the melancholy always finds him he does not know. He is sure he deserves it as it seems to be his best friend lately. Guilty thoughts zoom in and out of his mind. He knows everyone only tolerates him. He has always been broken and can feel the weight of every year he has been alive on his shoulders. The weight holding him down in his bed.

He shivers as he burrows under the safety of the blankets. I am just another dead thing, he thinks, this is where I belong. It is what I deserve. I deserve to be alone and isolated. He feels lightheaded from lack of feeding the past few nights. He enjoys the feeling as much as he hates it. A kind of high in his low period. Denying himself what he needs most- blood. He does not have the energy to open his mouth, even if he had heard them speaking over his chaotic thoughts. He used all his strength when he hid himself from the light. Times like these the light is his enemy. He needs this dark. He shivers then stills wishing the world would shut up. His hands covers his ears. He can still hear it all now. He hates this modern world. He scoots deeper into his soft bed ignoring the world.

The Crown

Claudia wove another flower into the crown she was creating. One leaf, one flower she thought as her nimble fingers braided the stems as she was shown by Louis. One leaf, one flower, one leaf then suddenly she exclaimed, "shoot" as her finger was pricked by a thorn. She looked at her finger then sucked the blood until it quickly healed. She went back to her task finishing a few minuted later. She quickly went to where Lestat was sitting on the ground and placed the crown on his head. "There now you are pretty like Louis and me." She proudly pronounced to him.
Lestat laughed pleased and scooped her up in his arms, "time to go in little one the sun will rise soon."

Requested: Louis/Armand, Angst

Type: Drabble for VC Secret Gift for damagedxmachine

He had always wondered what was underneath the lace cravats and silk shirts this pretty gentleman used to wear. When Louis came to him changed now willing to live with him as they never had before, he was surprised to say the least. He was happy. After all these years someone had chosen him, without artifice or prompting from his mind. Someone he loved finally wanted him as he wanted them.

He found it hard not to cry the first time their souls intertwined in their passionate embrace. He closed his eyes remembering the way Louis’ lips slowly and gently brushed his lips to Armand’s teasingly his hands lightly caressing auburn curls. The kiss had held a promise of things to come later that evening once he was settled in. So much feeling in one brief, gentle touch.

He thought back to their first night in Trinity Gate when he had unwrapped Louis like a package. So respectful was his gentleman friend. What made Louis beautiful was he saw the soul of a person, not their outward appearance. He respected him as his elder, something Marius never considered. Louis treated him with respect. How respectful was his Louis of his insecurities? He never once made him feel less than he was but as a man should. His mind drifted on their first blood kiss. It drifted once again touching briefly on their time spent as a lovers and as a family as his mind quickly flashed though their brief twenty years.

This last kiss they had shared moments ago was bittersweet. Louis was not leaving because he wanted to but because he was needed. The golden blond brat wanted him and he was the core. It did not matter to Lestat that he was ripping apart a family. What Lestat needed he would get, for now. His happiness was paramount as the fount. They could take no chances with their Prince. Sacrifices were to be made on both their parts until a solution could be found.

Red blood tears dripped down Armand’s face as he watched Louis get into the chauffeured town car. Louis turned kissing his palm then he blew on it sending his love to him one last time his eyes red rimmed with unshed tears. Oh so human, his Louis, he thought as he watched him moving forward into an uncertain future. Until we meet again, amore mio, he thought as he stepped into the oh so empty house alone.

Excerpts from Everard's Warnings Regarding the Dangers of Rhoshamandes:

He certainly lacked control for one so old taking advice from the voice. He did not have the excuse of being confused or underground for a long time. It was deliberate. He will do these things again. He wrote in an article to the Coven.

Where is the contempt and outrage from our leader? He does nothing when It has been said over and over again this man is dangerous. Why do his deeds go unpunished? Why should he be forgiven? His sins are so many. I have pleaded my case many times. He has not proven himself worthy of immortality. The older ones should be destroyed when they prove themselves incompetent. My writing still falls on deaf ears by our dear Prince. He wrote with some urgency in another article.

Since when has this man ever proved he can control his temper? Everard wrote.

He would write and voice these opinions over and over again. His warnings would fall on deaf ears much to his frustration. Only when it affected the Prince would something be done regarding his Maker.

Chapter 1 Far, Far, Away

Once upon a time in an alternate universe far, far away there lived a planter named Louis de Pointe du Lac. He was the most beautiful person for miles around. He lived on a plantation outside New Orleans. He was called by the locals “Beautiful One.” He had eyes that shone brightly like emeralds, ruby lips and raven black hair. He had a fair complexion and was lean and lithe. Louis loved to read in his spare time but there was little time to be had because Louis was the owner of his family’s plantation. Louis had inherited it when he was 15 because his father died at a young age. He cared for his two younger siblings and his mother from that young age. He made sure they lived a good life and their fortunes grew under his watchful eye- along with their indigo crops.

Louis was about to turn twenty-four when his mother decided it was time for him to settle down with his own family. As the matron of the family she decided they should host a masquerade ball. She was doing this so Louis could meet a few eligible young ladies.

Louis of course could deny his mother nothing so he indulged her fantasies of him getting married to a fair maiden and agreed to host the ball. His mother decided she was going into New Orleans to have proper costumes made for their family because they had an image to project to society. Louis lovingly indulged her whims and sent her off in a carriage with a driver. Before she left she had asked her children if they would like anything special from the city. Louis’ brother and sister stated that they would like jewelry to go with their costumes. Louis said that he did not need anything special other than her safe return. He sent her off with a kiss on the cheek.

His mother spent a week in the city preparing their costumes and making various preparations for their ball. Once done with all the preparations for the ball she had the driver drive her back with the garments and jewelry for her children. It started to storm along the way home. The the sky became dark, rain and wind began to pour from the skies. They became lost because it had become so dark which caused them to enter an enchanted forest. Suddenly the thunder struck in front of the horse which caused the driver to lose control and fall from the carriage. The horse ran wildly through the forest damaging the carriage and knocking his mother unconscious. The carriage only stopped once they reached an enchanted castle.

Upon waking Louis’ mother was distraught and knocked on the door to seek shelter from the storm. When no one answered she opened the door and went in. She called out but it seemed no one was home. The first room she entered was the parlor where there was a big welcoming fire. She sat down and warmed herself. Once warmed and dried she decided to explore the castle. Soon she found a big banquet hall with a meal laid out for one. Since she was hungry she sat down and ate. Once she had finished eating. She moved about various rooms in the castle exploring. Tiredly she went upstairs and to her amazement there was a bed turned down with a night gown laying at the foot of the bed as if it was waiting on her. There was a nice cozy fire keeping the room warm. She gave a silent thank you to her benefactor then she changed and fell asleep upon the soft bed.

Upon waking the next morning breakfast was on the bedside table. She noted that her dress was pressed and cleaned. She called out, “merci,” to the seemingly empty enchanted room. She ate and dressed. She went downstairs and out of the castle to make her way home. To her amazement her horse was attached to a cart that she could easily drive home with her purchases. As she turned she saw a beautiful rose bush. She picked a rose and said, “merci.” She of course had picked the rose for her eldest son because he gave a lot to his family and never asked anything in return.

She got up on the cart and drove the horse towards the road. Once she was about to leave the property a beast of a man was suddenly in front of her. He let out a roar like a lion. The horse jumped startled knocking her off the cart. She fell hitting her head. The beast roared, “Why did you steal my rose? I made sure you had food, drink and a warm bed for the night. This is how you repay my hospitality?”

“I took it for be beautiful son,” she replied. “I did not think you would miss one rose from such a beautiful garden.”

“I have so little beauty in my life. That rose is sacred to me.” He roared.

She backed away.

“You owe me for that rose. You will stay as my prisoner or send this son of yours to take your place.” The beast demanded of her.

“Oui, I will send me son in my place,” she said eager to get away from the beast. She thought once she was away she would forget this ever happened. She would not honor the deal because it was silly to be held prisoner for a simple rose when he had so many other roses in that wonderful garden.

“Do not think you will cheat me,” he said. “You are honor bound now to send your beautiful son to take your place. If he does not come within three days. I will kill your entire family,” the beast warned showing his wicked fangs scaring her.

She looked startled and jumped back away from him. She thought it was as if he could read her mind. She quickly agreed to his terms her heart beating wildly. The beast helped her up on the cart and sent her away with a warning he would keep his promise of killing them if she did not keep her word.

She made her way home and arrived that evening. Louis was relieved to see her as the coachman had arrived earlier that morning without her. He hugged and kissed her and asked her if she was alright. She replied with a simple ‘oui’. She handed him the beautiful rose. She told him the story of how she had gotten him that rose. She made it sound amusing as if it were nothing she made light of what the beast said to her. Louis looked at her incredulously and replied, “Mother if what you say is true I am honor bound to go and serve a sentence or at the very least pay him for the rose and hospitality.” He figured that it was a big burly man perhaps rough around the edged that had frightened her. He decided that she had exaggerated his appearance to make the story sound amusing. “I am sure this can be settled easily. I will go and settle this so you do not worry.”

Chapter 2 "How It All Began..."

“Two days later following the directions his mother gave him, Louis took off on his horse to see the beast…” Louis told her until he was rudely interrupted.

“Louis, Louis, Louis,” Lestat interrupted in a patronizing tone.

Lestat stood up and moved from his position playing the harpsichord until he was suddenly looming over them. Lestat had moved faster than either of them could see. “That is not how you tell the story, mon cher.”

Lestat regally sat on the chaise lounge on the other side of Claudia as he continued without missing a beat, “You must start with the most important part of the story. Which is of course the Prince and how he was turned into a beast.”

Lestat gazed into Louis’ emerald eyes gently chiding him, “If you do not begin from the beginning how will she ever understand how we met? You cannot start a story from the middle. You should have read enough books to know better. Mon dieu, you are a horrible story teller! You would think you were being interviewed about your family and not telling the real story of how we met! I could not even recognize that horrendous story that was coming from your mouth.”

Lestat hugged his daughter close and said dramatically, “Now Claudia this is how it all really began...”

Lestat de Lioncourt was the most gorgeous Prince in all the land. He had flowing blond hair like that of a lion, gray eyes that can appear blue depending on what he is wearing and he was the most stylish dresser. He was of course me, the Brat Prince extraordinaire. He was the epitome of all royalty. He did have a major fault his vanity and it was his vanity that brought about his downfall.

Lestat was known as the, “Brat Prince” because he had to have the best of everything. He had the most beautiful courtiers, the most fabulous singers, the best food and wine. He had the most gorgeous castle and of course the most money of all the royalty. So, he threw lavish and decadent parties. To do this he had to have a gorgeous ball room that was always filled with the best décor and dancers in all the land.

Life in the castle was one fabulous party. Until one rainy night when an Enchantress named Raglanne James, sought the comfort and protection of his home. The Prince always wanting the best did not like what he saw before him. So, he did not aid the Enchantress because she looked old and haggard. He did not think the Enchantress could add anything worthwhile to the party. He thought she would make him look like he had no taste because she had no style nor beauty. To be perfectly honest she sounded like a frog when she spoke.

Lestat denied her the aid of a warm bed and the comfort of his castle so that he could keep the reputation of only having the best in his home. She warned him, “appearances can be deceiving not everything is as it seems. There are many hidden facets to beauty and sometimes it comes from within.” She offered him a beautiful rose.

Lestat laughed at her and threw the rose at her. 'What an offering to give a prince?' he thought to himself. He did not allow her to enter his castle. Before he could slam the door, she transformed into a beautiful young girl.

The Enchantress cast a spell on the castle and on everyone inside of it because she could find no love in his heart for anyone other than himself. She turned the handsome Prince into a horrible looking beast because of his selfishness. She wiped the memory of the castle from the minds of the villagers and everyone who knew them. She created a magical forest and buried the castle deep within it. She did soften the curse by telling him if you can find someone who can see the beauty in him and fall in love with him before the last petal falls then the curse will be broken. However, if the last petal falls and he does not find true love then everyone remains as they are- cursed for all eternity. The Enchantress disappeared leaving him with the single rose...

I watched him as he jumped off the cliff his lithe body arching into a perfect dive. There was almost no splash as he landed into the black depth of the ocean his raven hair fanning out as he began to swim down deep. He came upon me as I was watching him. Before he could say anything I knew that I had to do it now. I pulled down his swimming trunks. Holding onto the trunks I balled them up in my hand and threw them out into the water. His eyes flashed in annoyance but they quickly changed as he smiled at me making my heart flutter. He moved fast catching me off guard, I felt my body being dunked under the water. I came up the surface sputtering and to the sound of his laughter. Our eyes caught along with my breath as I watched him filled with joy. I briefly closed my eyes so that I could commit this perfect moment to memory...

“Awaken, mon amour.” Lestat said softly to himself as if he were willing Louis to live.
David could barely hear the words even though Lestat was standing beside him. David had spilt at least a fourth of his blood supply onto Louis’ ashes to help Lestat bring him back to life. David thought it may work as he continued to spill his blood over him. He finally saw that both his and Lestat’s blood working on the ashes. Their blood was turning the ashes to tissue and bones it was miraculously reforming itself before their eyes.
“Merrick you need to spill your blood if we are to bring him back to life.” Lestat said with some force in his voice.
He saw Merrick bite her wrist then she quietly started spilling her blood back and forth over the tissue and bone. The ashes that had turned into flesh and bone began knitting together reshaping Louis’ body. David was fascinated to see the regenerative powers of their blood. He would not have thought this would be possible. Finally, he saw Louis’ eyes blink and open emerald green but brighter now. Louis was in now in one piece, he sat up looking dazed and confused. There was not a blemish on him as he stared at the three of us.
“Come, my love.” He heard Lestat murmur to Louis helping him from the coffin. Lestat lead him into the townhouse satisfied that they had succeeded.

“Non, Lestat I will not wear these shorts.” He called out impatiently to his maker. He threw the shorts down regretting the fact that he let the brat pack his bags for this trip. He would just have to go shopping none of this would hide his pale skin.
“It is not like you will be out in the sunlight, mon amour.” He heard his maker call out from the other room in the suite. “No one will notice anyway.”
Hearing that he really wished he had not agreed this trip. They were in Japan to see the cherry blossoms they were in bloom. They had decided to come to Japan because of the late thaw in Auvergne. They wanted to enjoy the warmer weather. It was a new experience for them both because neither had been to Japan.
His jaw clenched as he left the bedroom in the beige shorts. This outfit would have to do for now until he could get away from the brat to go shopping, he decided. Louis stood with his arms crossed around his waist showing an absurd amount of skin in his new shorts and light green t-shirt. He was glaring at Lestat. Lestat was smirking because he had gotten his way with Louis’ wardrobe.
“I will never allow you to pack for me again. There was nothing I liked in those suitcases.” He huffed.
“Ahh, but I adore what you have on beautiful one.” Lestat replied as he moved to embrace the green eyed man.

Lestat is in search of other vampires to find answers to the legacy of the vampires eternal existence.” His answer to all my questions, finally, he thought as he excitedly went to purchase the book.

“The reality is that it is practical in today’s society for marriage to be mundane and loveless for child rearing purposes. Marriage should be based on friendship and mutual respect so kids grow up in a nurturing and safe environment. Studies show that children who are reared in homes where they see their parents working together as a team are balanced and well adjusted. There are less arguments and violence in homes that share mutual goals and core values.” Lestat read aloud from Parenting Magazine to Louis. “Oh Louis we were doomed from the start according to this article.” Lestat says dramatically placing his hand over his heart.
Louis replies, “Lestat we were never married. I don’t think that applies to fledglings. Why are you reading a parenting magazine, Lestat?”
“I saw it in the checkout lane. It had a picture of Brad Pitt on the cover. The article looked interesting…”
“Admit it you were looking for tips to use on David.” Louis teased.
Lestat narrowed his eyes saying, “Louis, I would never do such a thing. David is a grown man.”
Louis laughed to himself but says nothing to Lestat…

“I have examined these findings from the sample tissue I took from the concert,” she said to her boss in the laboratory. “I have come to the conclusion that the beings that were set on fire at The Vampire Lestat concert were indeed vampires.” She said as she finished laying out the facts to her boss and showing him the results and data. “I have run these same tests on all the samples I have collected and all the results are the same.” She pauses and states matter of factly pointing to the results, “I ran these three sets of samples twice to double check the results are accurate. I have even tested the lab equipment to make sure it is in proper working order.” When her boss still did not respond and just sat there looking at her she pushed on and said, “There is still enough residual samples left for more tests to be made. So you can check my facts. Outside labs can run the same tests. I am sure they will reach the same conclusion. We can publish this data-“ she was interrupted by her boss who was looking at her now like she was insane.

“You expect me or any other credible scientist to believe that the paranormal exists? That these beings have been overlooked since almost time began? You are getting this from a fictional book and trying to make it fact?” her boss asked her scathingly. He paused and before he could say anything else she decided to explain further.

“It has gone on unexplained because they have been well hidden in plain sight. They are no longer a mystery with modern science because I have proven their existence. If you read the book and look at the findings, you will realize he was trying to warn us-“ she said seriously to her boss trying to remain professional.

My eyes glided quickly down the article on the front page of the newspaper. The article that interested me was "The Carnival Murderer." My heart and soul soared as I saw Lestat enter the room. I buried my nose deeper in the paper as Lestat approached and sat down in the chair opposite of me.

"Good evening David." Lestat said his eyes twinkling. "What's are the plans for tonight?'

Just as I was about to answer Louis staggered out from his room holding his head with his eyes half closed. It was a shock to see my dark brother less than his normally graceful self. I looked from the article to him quickly. I smirked a bit behind the paper because I knew what brought about the rampage that I just read about. Grinning to myself wickedly because I won round one for Lestat's attention last night and made sure Louis walked in on us. I casually put the paper down on the table before Lestat article side facing up and excused myself to go hunt. Seeing Lestat look down at the paper as I leave the room; I heard Lestat yelling at Louis 'what the hell is wrong with you?' Standing outside the door I listen for a minute as they argue before striding down the hall as I whistle to find this evenings dinner.

Drabble Dimanche: Body Swap Edition
Prompts: Switch Rogue Stolen Talamasca Physical
Word Count: 481
Prequel to “Home

Knowing I am about to lose all my composure I end the conversation with my maker and flee the house in which I live. I run swiftly through the streets leaving him behind before I give in and go against everything I believe and help him. Disappearing quickly from his accusing eyes I am still shocked to have seen him in a human body. I feel I have ran far enough away from him that I can slow my pace to a mortal walk. As I walk my thoughts are jumbled as I remember his physical appearance that is so different from his vampire’s body. I stop walking once I reach the river and take a seat on a bench. Sitting still I bow my head my raven locks hiding my face I begin to cry losing all composure as I realize what just happened that the switch worked. Blood tears fall down my face so I blot my tears with a handkerchief I have pulled out of my pocket. I take several deep breaths as my mind races with different possibilities and scenarios as to what will happen now to him and to me. I think cynically that there is no doubt that David from the Talamasca will help him with human life until he regains his body. I then begin to think of James in Lestat’s stolen body wondering what will happen when the others find out that there is now a powerful rogue vampire on the loose. I feel a hand on my back startling me out of my morose thoughts. I breathe deeply; stop crying and put on my infamous mask of detachment before looking up to see Marius.

“Louis, I am sorry to have startled you but Lestat has burnt down your home. I came to offer you a place to stay until everything can be resolved with this body swap.”

“Thank you Marius but I must refuse. I am going to leave town indefinitely. Will you please let me know as soon as Lestat is back in vampire form?” I wanted him to know I have faith in Lestat’s abilities even if I cannot help him because of my personal beliefs. I have no doubt that he will overcome this obstacle if not by getting his body back then by having a vampire give him the dark gift. I know that if Lestat truly wants to be a vampire if he will find a way. I just hope he does not see my refusal to turn him as a betrayal of him. I get up and nod to Marius telling him “bon nuit” as I quickly run to the old warehouse that holds my car. I get in my little car and begin to run from my demons.

Drabble Dimanche: Happy New Year Edition
Prompts: Champange Noise Maker Firecracker Countdown Happy New Year
Word Count: 461

Louis’ Journal Entry
31 December 2015

This year has passed swiftly because I am finally at peace with my past. Now that we are all in Auvergne things seem to be going better for our kind as a whole. Lestat and I have talked and made peace with our past. We seem to be moving in a positive direction at last as companions. We do not argue like we used to. He seems to have found balance with Amel. So now I can look forward to the future with my Brat Prince.

Tonight there will be no champagne, noisemakers, firecrackers or countdowns because we are having our first Sabbat as a new immortal nation. We decided to start our own traditions as a nation of immortals. I have never been to a Sabbat and I am looking forward to this new tradition. The ghosts from the original Talamasca are coming to ring in the New Year with us.

2016 seems to be full of promise for our kind but for the mortals they are still at war with each other. This war is like none I have seen before because it is hard to know where the terror will attack them or when. Because of this Paris is not like I remembered it has changed much in spirit. Humans are suspicious of others and alert to their wellbeing as they never were before. It seems their innocence is gone. It has been dying for decades. There seems to be a detachment to humans now even with the means they have to communicate. Everyone seems to be waiting, alert for the next terror attack. I wish they could lay down their differences and have a Happy New Year just as we are planning.

For vampires it seems the old ways are gone. Vampires and ghosts leave the castle at will. We respect and help each other putting aside our differences. We make allowances because we know that our kind can not tolerate each other for long. It is understood that there are no hurt feelings if one or more of us leave to live alone or as families for a time. We all know we have a place where we can come together anytime, a place where we can call home. So far everyone has kept to the rules (for the most part) and the few who have not are educated and given a chance to comply before their fate is decided. The new system seems to work since it is not totally restrictive. I see hope for the future and for the first time I think I can be happy. The darkness seems to have passed from me. I am looking forward to a happy future with my loved ones.

Prompts: Send Stripe Seal Short Bonus: Mistletoe
Word count: 344

Louis looks at the Christmas card in his hand. It has a picture of a seal on it wearing a Santa hat with a green stripe going around the hat. The outside of the card seemed odd and made him wonder who would send such a card to him. He opened the card and raised his dark raven eyebrows as he read the short illegible note scrawled inside.

Dear Louis,
Season's greetings. I decided to send you this card because I know we were both at loose ends since Armand left me and you are no longer living with Lestat. I have been with Marius since Armand abandoned me to my insanity. I am now living in Brazil. I would like to speak with you because it has been quite some time since our interview. Since the interview both of our lives have drastically changed and I feel we could be good friends and confidants. If you come I promise not to bring out the mistletoe or write another book! I thought it would be fun to get to know one another and to catch up on old times.
Your Friend,
Daniel

Louis looked at the card and considered the message. The last he had heard of Daniel he was obsessively building models. Perhaps he would go and see him then maybe visit Armand. It is time to get out of New Orleans. Time to move away from Lestat and the memories of her. He shrugged and put the card down on the desk. He decided not to make any decisions tonight because he has all the time in the world. Soon he will leave New Orleans behind along with any thoughts of his maker. It was now time to concentrate on himself and to move forward with his life. Time to quit expecting so much from him and to stop living in the past. A new year and a new life. Yes, he liked the thought of the future possibilities. He smiled as he went to bed for the first time in years.

Drabble Dimanche: Turkish Delight Edition
Prompts: Delight Forbidden Steam Pleasure
Word Count: 332

In the shadows I watch Louis' pleasure as he looks at the Christmas display in the shop's window. I love watching the wistful look on his face as he forgets his agony. These moments do not last. This time it is the sound of a little girl's voice that breaks his lighthearted mood. This always happens a sound, a look or a memory will always break these breif glimpses of happiness. He looks at her blonde curls which make the misery burn in his jade eyes before quickly changing into despair. By the time he gets to the cafe his face will be blank with detachment. If I were human I would be ashamed of watching him but I am not. I am the one who took the light from his eyes which caused the torment to his soul resulting in his detachmnent from the world. I did this all for the pleasure of his company and for revenge on his maker.

Now, I am forbidden to see the smile that lights up his eyes. I sometimes wonder if it was worth it. No hot nights full of passion for me. I shake my head thinking if only I could do it all again. Then I think to myself... no I would not change a thing because there is beauty in his suffering and I did that to him. It will always be there haunting him. I may not be his great love but I did bring him great pain. In a perverse way that brings me a small amount of pleasure. Maybe I will tell him Lestat lives as a gift for Christmas or maybe not. Maybe I will just bleed his soul and keep him in ignorance for my pleasure. I watch him for another moment before going into the cafe. I order a cup of coffee so I can enjoy the steam of the coffee on my face. I sit and wait for him and his detachment. I smile. My game.

Decided to use some of KC's ideas for a comedy fic in "60 Things You'll Never See in the Vamp Canon." I used the following in no particular order.
1. Squirrels invade Rue Royal! Will Louis notice all the rodents climbing over him?
5. Sybelle spontaneously combusts! The coven celebrates, even Marius!
6. Danny organizes the coven into a Vampire Lord of the Dance!
22. Lestat loses his memory, thinks he's Superman.
23. Pandora, Gabrielle and Jessica all get amnesia, think they're the Powerpuff Girls!
32. The coven goes diving to see sharks up close, Benji slips out of the shark cage and is devoured.
41. Louis decides to live his un-life as a woman!
48. Lestat: Kills Benji.
Armand: Oh my God! He killed Benji!
Marius: You bastard!
49. Superman meets Lestat.

All characters belong to A. Rice. No money made this fic. AU silly spec fun to work on when bored. I see this as a challenge to make all these things happen in a silly story.

Your comments are appreciated but keep in mind it is a work in progress and will be edited.

Thanks,

Scene one
It all started when Lestat got an idea from watching Billy Crystal in City Slickers rounding up cattle. I know it's scary, huh? Lestat with an idea? Hell any blond with an idea is scary.

"We need a new narrator!" Lestat shouts, "This one is prejudiced by gorgeous blondes! I am the star of this fic and refuse to work under these conditions!"

"Actually you didn't read the fine print in your contract. It says here we can make whatever jokes we want...however we want.. as badly as we want. Also, it says that Armand gets top billing, followed by Louis... in fact you are listed under Benji..."

Lestat mumbles under his breath something nasty about having his lawyer Christine for dinner as he reads the contract.

"Lestat come on and let the narrator do her job!" Louis yells.

Okay back to Lestat's idea. He decided to teach Mojo how to round up squirrels. Mojo became quite proficient at rounding the rodents up. One day when Lestat was out feeding Mojo excitedly started his squirrel roundup. Once he rounded them up he chased them into the house on Rue Royal thru his doggy door! The ever lovable dog just wanted to play with them and Louis. But Louis had other ideas like reading trashy romance novels for ideas on how to keep Lestat interested in bed. Louis was laying on the carpet in front of the fireplace reading his sexy novel when the squirrel invasion happened. Of course our beautiful resident bookworm was too engrossed in his Danielle Steele novel to notice the squirrels running all over the townhouse and running across his back, legs, etc. When Lestat walked in the house positively glowing from his dinner he started laughing hysterically because a squirrel was nesting in Louis' hair and he didn't even notice it or all the others in the house!

"Hush Lestat! I AM READING!" Louis said while swiping the squirrel from his hair thinking it is Lestat.

Lestat looked at him bemused and shrugged saying, "but chaton."

"Not now Lestat stop that," he said interrupting him and swiping at his own back. "Just let me finish the ending of this book first!"

Lestat rolled his eyes and decided to sit down on the sofa and watch and wait to see how long it took Louis to notice all the squirrels. A couple minutes later Louis looked up from his book and angrily said, "Lestat I said no..." the words died on his lips as he finally noticed the squirrel invasion secretly led by Gen. Mojo. He screamed when he noticed the squirrels on him so he jumped up from the floor knocking them off as Lestat laughed.

"It's not funny Lestat and this is all your fault!"

"My fault Louis? How so? I wasn't even home to do this!" He said laughing but he kept to himself that he had secretly taught Mojo to roundup squirrels. He decided that was probably a bad decision but it was funny not scary.

"How did they get in the house Louis, hmm? You were the one home. So you are responsible for this, chaton." He said waving his arms around. "Louis, are you going vegetarian again but using squirrels instead of rats this time, chaton? You should store them in the refrigerator, love."

Louis stood there seething knowing it is his Maker's fault but he did not exactly know how to prove it was his fault. Because he had no idea how this happened... he seethed thinking that he just did not have the evidence to blame him. So he stomped his foot and said, "No and I am not dealing with this," he quickly left the room for their bedroom after yelling down the stairs, "l am leaving until this mess is cleaned up!"

Lestat followed him saying, "Good we need a vacation and the coven was discussing a reunion in the Bahamas in the chatroom last night. I will book a villa and send out an email to everyone."

"Don't forget to call an exterminator!"

Scene two
Somewhere in the Bahamas...in the biggest shark cage known to the undead forged from Maharet's super strong hair. (Where does she get all this hair from anyway? Haven't you noticed that it is always long in all these stories... hmm maybe she was Rapunzel in a past life.) The Coven watches the sharks swimming. Predators watching predators isn't this a heartwarming scene? I should also mention that Louis bet Daniel that someone will get hurt or worse by a shark. The loser of the bet has to be the winners slave for a week. Someone really needs to tell Daniel not to make bets with Louis since he always wins. The outcome wouldn't matter to him because Daniel figures the situation is win win anyways (he drools after thought). Okay the scene is set. Let us begin.

"Lestat quit pinching my butt! I know it isn't a crab. You can't pull that trick twice!" Louis yells as he jumps into the shark cage. Lestat snickers jumping in after him joining Louis and the rest of the coven in the cage.

After swatting Lestat away from him Louis watches the sharks through his cat like green eyes. He watches the sharks for a while then he decides he needs a mark so he can win the bet. He decides on Benji because he figures if he dies from this no one will really miss him. Also he thinks he is annoying. He then looks around the shark cage finding Benji. He smiles at him making sure Lestat notices. Louis swims up to Benji and touches his shoulder. He then licks his lips and flirtatiously winds his hair around his finger. After masking sure Lestat is still watching he slides his hand down Benji's thigh. Benji gulps. Louis thinks that should do it what an easy mark as he removes his hand. Lestat snarls seeing this and lunges for Benji after pushing Louis out of the way.

Benji swims for the door to the shark cage as fast as he can opening it and closing it before Lestat can catch hold of him. Just at that moment Marius had pulled dead fish parts from the cooler so they could feed the sharks. The smell of the blood got every vampires attention including the brats. But unfortunately for Benji the movement and smell of blood caused the shark nearest to the young vampire bite him. Causing Benji to scream under the water. Everyone looked back towards Benji and stood transfixed as they watched the shark tear his leg from his body. Luckily, Benji is a scrappy young vampire and punches the shark in the nose. This caused the shark to release his leg so he could get it back from the shark. The shark dies from the force of the punch and the other sharks realize a bigger threat than they are and swim away.

Lestat smirks daring Benji to come back in the cage and telepathically sends :Kills Benji: to all of the vampires.

Armand seeing Benji's state sends telepathically to everyone :Oh my God! He killed Benji:

Marius telepathically replies, :You bastard!: Then he swims to the door and yanks Benji back into the cage. Protectively holding his fledgling in his arms. Maharet takes the remote and raises the cage back onto the yacht. They all walk out of the cage and on deck Marius attaches Benji's leg back on his body.

After calming the Brat down and soothing his ego by assuring him he still loves him. Louis explained to Lestat that he was just trying to win a bet with Daniel. Also he was trying to get even with Lestat for the squirrel incident at the same time as winning the bet by making him jealous. Lestat smiles at this and says, "Louis you are so evil and you have them all fooled into thinking you're so innocent. I am so proud of you! So we have a slave this week Louis? I love you. Daniel our slave...Armand won't be happy!" He says gleefully at the thought of making Armand's vacation miserable by stealing his companion. Louis grins at Lestat relieved that he is happy with his explanation.

Drabble Dimanche: Hanukkah Edition
Prompts: Candle Potato Blue Silver
Word count: 259

"So it has come to this." - Merrick, Anne Rice

I stand over my Beautiful One in his coffin. I am in pain seeing him reduced to ash. Looking over his remains in the silver moonlight with my eyes that are bright blue tinged red as I look at my eternal love. This one who looks beautiful even in one of his black grungy sweaters that is shaped like a potato sack. I have to bite my tongue to keep from crying so the bitch standing next to me will not know the depth of my pain and my hatred for her. As I stand here I know what I am going to do regardless of what either of them say in response to the question I am about to ask. I know it is self fish of me but I can not face the world without him. He will live. I do not care if it takes all my blood and all night but I will bring him back to me with or with their help. Regardless of what they say or who gets in my way. Once I have him back I will decide how best to deal with her. Later I will light a candle in the cathedral to ask for his forgiveness. It is what he would expect of me to disregard his choice for my will. He will forgive me- always. I know this because this is our eternal dance, forgiveness. There will be no scattered ashes this night not for my own, my Louis.

Drabble Dimanche: If music be thee food of love
Prompts: Adagio Strings Harmony Echo 3 used

In the studio I heard a play back of the strings playing in harmony with the electric guitar. We were trying to finish 'Those Who Must Be Kept' the last song to be edited in the recording studio. I shook my head and then said, "No, no, no this is not right! The strings need to be adagio and the guitars tempo need to be picked up. The timbre of the music is not quite right either. Here let me fix it." I pushed the mortal gently away and sat at the sound board methodically fixing the music to make it pleasing to my vampiric ear. I nod satisfied. I play the music back to everyone.
"There it is finished. Perfect," I declared.
I looked at the mortals in the room to see their reactions. My band was stoned and the techs and producers were smiling looking pleased. Then congratulations were being given all around as I sat back satisfied. I began thinking to myself, 'The last track is finished and album is complete. Now to put the rest of my plan in action. Soon they will all come... even my Louis.'
